Hetrick-Martin Institute Celebrates 2016 Emery Awards

On Wednesday, December 7 at Cipriani Wall Street, Hetrick-Martin Institute will celebrate the 2016 Emery Awards, HMI's flagship annual event.

This year's theme is "Help Me Imagine." HMI, a leader in direct services and advocacy for LGBTQ youth, encourages the community to imagine a world where all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, can achieve their full potential. The event boasts more than 1,100 guests, including influencers from the world of finance, fashion, theatre, beauty and more.

Past honorees include Michael Bloomberg, Chelsea Clinton, Arianna Huffington, Ryan Murphy, Cory Booker, Harvey Milk High School co-founder Dr. Joyce Hunter, Mary-Louise Parker, researcher Jeffrey Ravetch, Andy Cohen, Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl's USA, 2014-2015 Broadway Production of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and the M.A.C. AIDS Fund.

The Hetrick-Martin Institute believes all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hetrick-Martin creates this environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 13 and 24 and their families.
