The Good Wife - The Second Season

Jim Halterman READ TIME: 1 MIN.

While in our hustle and bustle world we tend to watch most of our shows on DVR or DVD, CBS's drama "The Good Wife" has the distinction of being one show around which you'll want to schedule your life as well as to watch live. Yes, it's that good. However, if your life doesn't work that way, the second season DVD is out now and I highly suggest diving in before the third season kicks off on September 25th.

While the series began with the wife of a politician who had a very public penchant for hookers and corruption, Alicia (the fantastic Julianna Margulies) has progressively come into her own both personally and professionally and the second season is a terrific example of her journey.

Another great thing about this series? The stellar supporting cast. With a cast of actors including Christine Baranski, Josh Charles, Emmy winner Archie Panjabi (as bisexual Kalinda), Matt Czuchry, Noth and a cunning Alan Cumming (playing it straight this time), every character has much to do and the stories weave in and out in intoxicating fashion. The show also expertly utilizes guest stars such as America Ferrara, Michael J. Fox, Anika Noni Rose and Lili Taylor as an ex-lover of Kalinda's.

The second season DVD includes all 23 episodes from the second season, deleted scenes, a feature with a conversation with creators Robert and Michelle King, a panel discussion with the cast, mock campaign videos used in the series and Alan Cumming's hilarious videos.
