Eye Candy :: Meet the 'Vampire Boys'

If you have seen the DVD cover for the recently released horror film 'Vampire Boys' (from Ariztical Entertainment), you're gaydar likely went off. Is this the gay version of 'Twighlight'? The producers would certainly like it to be.

The film, directed by Charlie Vaughn, concerns a group of ripped vampires headed by Jason. He is in search of 'the One', and thinks he finds it in Caleb, LA newbie who meets Jason on a college campus. They are immediately drawn to each other, but will Caleb decide to give up his life for Jason and join his vampire brood?

The cover intrigued us to look into the careers of the hunky young actors seen in the film. Below are brief profiles of the film's leading cast members- Jason Lockhart, Tanner Acord, Dylan Vox and Jess Allen - along with photos.

Jason Lockhart

Jason Lockhart has recently been named one of the top ten rising horror stars to watch! Since graduating from Wright State University in Ohio with a BFA in acting, Lockhart's career in the entertainment industry has gone from strength to strength.

His film credits include features such as SyFy's 'Aliens Vs. Avatars', in which he plays a geeky virgin who saves the world, and David Wald's action flick 'Love like Bullets.'

Avid soap fans may recognize Lockhart from his regular role on the 'webi-soap' (a soap only available on the internet) 'The Young & Rebellious', in which he plays brooding loner Logan. Lockhart has also filmed a guest stint on the show 'I Didn't Know I was Pregnant', portraying a young and unprepared father.

Lockhart is also a talented writer. He recently completed his first screenplay entitled 'Happy Birthday'; a documentary style horror film that has been sent to the producers of popular dramedy '500 days of Summer'. Currently Lockhart is working on building his own production company 'J-Star Pictures', along with Jacqui Holland. The company is in the process of making Lockhart's screenplay 'The Old Folk's Home', a comedy/horror slasher movie, with filming set to begin this summer.

Dylan Vox

A native of Atlanta Georgia, 32 year-old Dylan Vox competed as a professional ice skater before turning his attention to acting.

After completing a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Journalism, and then a Master's degree in Law, Vox starred in the Los Angeles premiere of 'Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical'.

He went on to appear in the world premier of the hip-hopera 'City-Kid', a role that earned him an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award nomination and a NACCP theatre award nomination.

Vox became a reality TV star after appearing on the shows 'Fight for Fame' and 'Open Call'.

He also has various film and television credits to his name, including gothic horror series 'Dante's Cove', Herel's vampire series 'The Lair' and the upcoming indie horror film 'Lovesick Captivity', which was directed by Creep Creepersin.

However, Vox is perhaps better known for his roles in various pornographic films. He was nominated for over 12 GayVN Awards and 15 Grabby Awards, winning Best Supporting Actor at the GayVN Awards in 2004 and 2005. When Vox isn't stripping off for porn or treading the boards, he enjoys writing. He has contributed to a number of LGBT- themed websites, and currently writes a blog entitled '21st-Century Vox. He also serves as the Sports Editor and as a featured columnist for GayWorld.com.

Jess Allen

Model and stunt man Jess Allen has had small roles in numerous plays and television shows. Before taking on the role of Dane in 'Vampire Boys,' the hunky 6ft 3inch actor appeared in shows like CSI: New York, and 'Numbers', as well as in various plays, including a production of Shakespeare's 'The Two Gentleman of Verona'.

A graduate of Arizona State University and Lower Columbia College, Allen is also a successful underwear model, having worked for Sledge Clothing. As a model, Allen also appeared on the cover of romance novel 'Love, Lust and Faking it'.

Tanner Acord

Tanner Acord is a young actor/model from the Deer Park area of Houston, Texas. He is currently enrolled at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California, where he is majoring in Communications. He has modeled for various photographers, including Ovier Alvarez .

Tanner has had minor roles in popular teen movies and TV shows like Superbad, the O.C., and Zoey 101, as well as in ABC favorite 'Desperate Housewives'. Accord's portrayal as Adam in 'Vampire Boys' is his first notable film role.
