Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club, a member of Leading Small Hotels of the World, located on the Dutch Caribbean island of Cura?ao, has put the finishing touches on its Tree House Mansion, which is now available for guests to rent. This two bedroom, two bathroom treetop suite provides all the luxuries and comforts of a hotel with a unique safari twist.

Built atop wooden stilts among the island foliage, the Tree House Mansion is 1312 square feet and decorated with an African vibe. It's filled with artifacts and antiques that Kura Hulanda owner and visionary, Jacob Gelt Dekker, brought back from his travels over the years.

"It might be best described as Swiss Family Robinson meets African Safari on a Caribbean island," commented President and Director of Project Kura Hulanda Peter Heinen. "Jacob took great care and detail in designing the layout and d?cor and has created a surreal African experience here in Cura?ao. Guests can enjoy the Caribbean sea, snorkeling, sand and sun during the day and then retreat into an African oasis at night."

A wooden spiral staircase leads up to the Tree House Mansion and into the open-air living room, which features an authentic, ornate Bali Bridal bed and a wide terrace providing picturesque sunset views over the water. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and offers a four-poster king size bed with mosquito netting, flat screen TV, and full bathroom with tub and shower. The Tree House Mansion also has wireless Internet and a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, sink and microwave.

"It's ideal accommodations for a unique family vacation experience, as well as a secluded, romantic getaway for two. Lodge Kura Hulanda is on the west end of Cura?ao, situated on the cliffs overlooking the sea, which puts it in a spot that's great for adventure and exploration. It's set apart from the hustle and activity of the city, but close enough to Willemstad to take the free shuttle into town for the day to shop and explore and still have that experience," stated Heinen.

The Tree House Mansion sleeps up to four people with rates starting at $1,000/night.

For a more novelty experience, Lodge Kura Hulanda also offers a basic Tree House located amongst the Lodge Garden View Rooms and Suites, which rents for $100/night. Guests climb up a ladder, through a trap door and on to a wooden platform where a full sized safari tent is erected. Inside the zippered tent door the tree house is equipped with a king size bed, nightstands and working electricity (lights, mini-refrigerator and television). While not air-conditioned, the cross breeze that blows through the windows when unzipped provides all the cool air necessary. Located on the ground, beneath the platform, is the tree house bathroom which features a shower, sink and toilet, built in a rustic manor encompassing the feel of the great outdoors while not quite roughing it.

Nestled in the tranquil and idyllic setting of Cura?ao's west end, Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club is a member of IGLTA, and TAG approved. With a beautiful, white sand beach and a spectacular swimming pool, it offers a luxurious ambiance coupled with a relaxing beachfront retreat and the seclusion of a unique island hideaway. Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club offers guests the chance to experience world class diving, hiking, cycling and adventure within feet of the resort while just 45 minutes away, downtown Willemstad offers the enjoyment of diverse culture, dining, shopping and nightlife.
