Miami is home to an array of pristine, tropical beaches, including two semi-official gay beaches: 11th/12th Street Beach and Haulover Park Beach. The 11th/12th Street Beach is perfect for those in search of a party vibe, rainbow flags, and an iconic lifeguard station. Haulover Park Beach is one of the best naturist beaches in the world and is famously the only beach with a clothing-optional section in South Florida.

LGBTQ+ adventure seekers have much more to explore beyond the shore, with two National Parks and a variety of beautiful local and state parks perfect for hiking, biking, paddling, and more.

Miami is one of the most buzzed-about culinary capitals in the country. The city's melting pot of culture means Miami has all your flavor cravings covered and then some! For a fantastic weekend brunch hosted by drag queens, head to Palace Bar and Restaurant or R House Wynwood Restaurant.

Palace:
This iconic spot on Ocean Drive is well-known for its drag performances. Enjoy the constantly changing menu filled with dishes made from scratch at drag brunch Fridays-Sundays at 11:00 am & 2:00 pm or Mondays at noon. This location also offers a Drag Lunch Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm as well as Drag Performances nightly from 7:00 pm-11:30 pm. As a bonus, the Palace is home to a rooftop bar with breathtaking views of the heart of South Beach.

R House in Wynwood:
This Miami staple is an award-winning Wynwood eatery featuring delectable Latin cuisine Wednesday and Thursday, and home to show-stopping drag extravaganzas Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can catch performances by drag queens featured on "Ru Paul's Drag Race," both at weekly drag brunches on Saturdays and Sundays and at evening entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.

Nightlife and Bars

Whether it's Yes Ma'am Tuesdays at Black Bird, a party at a poolside bar, or a late night on the dance floor at Nathan's Beach Club, Greater Miami & Miami Beach's gay nightlife is always a good time. Some other popular spots include the South Beach nightlife mainstay Twist, Bar Gaythering, AxelBeach Bar, and the lively Latin Azucar Nightclub. There's truly no shortage of fun in Miami and Miami Beach.

Twist:
This Miami mainstay is the hottest and longest-running gay club in Miami. The nightclub continues to redefine queer nightlife and provides a friendly environment that welcomes patrons from all over the world. Twist is open seven days a week from 1 pm. to 5 am, and is one of the few places you can find go-go dancers at midnight on the beach.

Hotel Gaythering & Bar Gaythering:
Known as "The Gayest Hotel in Miami Beach," this charming adults-only boutique hotel features queer-inspired decorated rooms, a gay bar, and a gay sauna with a steam room and whirlpool. The hotel and its adjacent Bar Gaythering are home to must-attend weekly events like Karaoke on Mondays, Wednesday Trivia Nights, and Bingo on Thursdays.

AxelBeach Miami:
Located in the heart of the South Beach Art Deco district, this posh hotel features Art Deco interiors and several bars – including a poolside bar home to weekly LGBTQ+ parties. The interior keeps the hotel's original bohemian spirit of the '40s alive and was even recognized with the Merit Award of Excellence for Historic Preservation & Restoration 2020 by AIA Florida due to its sensitivity to the original design and the preservation of original elements.

The Colony Theater

Entertainment

Miami is a hotspot for lively entertainment and live events, including various LGBTQ+-centered events. The Villain Theater in Little Haiti is always a good time. The theater hosts comedy shows – including Haus of YAS night of improv, stand-up, and drag – as well as events like "RuPaul's Drag Race" viewing parties. You can also catch a screening at the independent, community-based arthouse O Cinema South Beach. Check out the show-stopping drag queen performances during Double Stubble every Thursday at Gramps in Wynwood.

Whether your family likes to have fun in the sun or have a ball at an attraction, Miami has the full spectrum of activities available for all ages. From beach days to airboat tours, there's no shortage of outdoor adventure. In addition, there are plenty of world-class museums to explore, including the Miami Children's Museum on Watson Island, which hosts "Rainbow Families Day" for all children to celebrate Pride and diversity. The Miami Beach Pride parade and festival in April have also become increasingly welcoming to families with family-safe play areas and activities.
