Hunter Schafer in "Cuckoo"

Hunter Schafer is not in "Euphoria" land anymore and running for her life in the absolutely cuckoo trailer for Tilman Singer's "Cuckoo."

Written and directed by Tilman, Shafer plays 17-year-old Gretchen, who is forced to leave her American home to live with her father at a resort in the German Alps. When Gretchen's father's boss (played by Dan Stevens) starts becoming obsessed with her half sister, things get very creepy.

Strange noises and bloody visions start to hunt Gretchen as she begins to uncover shocking family secrets, according to the film's official synopsis.

With "Euphoria" seemingly on a permanent hiatus, now is the perfect time for Schafer to become a big screen star.

"Cuckoo" had its debut at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival and a North American premiere at the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival.

"Cuckoo" is in theaters Friday, August 9. Check out the film's first trailer below.
