EDGE: You have amazing taste in fashion, which was on full display during "RPDR." How do you even begin to pack for a tour and what will you be packing?

Sasha Colby: Oh my goodness, my whole life. Remember how you asked the first question, how my life has changed? My whole life revolves around packing and unpacking my suitcases. I have been playing Tetris with every costume and how to pack it. It's a lot to pack for a tour. I wanted to make my outfits colorful, eclectic, and exciting. So, there's going to be a lot of luggage. I do like a drag that's spatially unaware. When I was on the show, my drag was so big, I kept on banging into people. My drag is very spatially unaware, so I think that's kind of good for going on tour.

EDGE: What are you most excited about to share with your fans while out on tour?

Sasha Colby: I'm really excited to be on tour and meet the fans. I believe we have picked intimate venues to make it feel more like home. This is my first endeavor in a one-woman show touring with Live Nation. I wanted to curate it so that it wouldn't be overwhelming for me and the fans. I want to get to know the audience and have them get to know me on a personal level. I want the fans to be able to peek behind the facade. I want them to see it all. I have a lot of fun stories that I will share and stories that could be helpful for anyone who's in the audience. I love meeting the fans that I've gotten to meet digitally on social media and in person.

EDGE: We know drag has a storied history of activism in and out of the LGBTQ+ community. What do you want your story to be?

Sasha Colby: I have these aha moments, especially now, when thinking about the queer people that I've looked up to and the trans activists and legends that have paved the way for me. It's sobering and exciting to think that I'm part of the drag and queer canon now. I get to be part of queer history. What I want to leave behind is my love for drag history and knowing that you don't know where you're going unless you know where you came from. I have this passion and this need to always honor and show the people who came before me and to allow a space for you to make your dreams happen. I feel like my drag is very powerful. I have created this powerful alter ego that gets to conquer anything on stage. I want you to feel that when you leave any sort of interaction with me. Last year, I released my single "Feel the Power" because I want everyone to find their power from within. It's not just for me, it's for everyone.

EDGE: Would this also be your message to the trans community?

Sasha Colby: The trans community includes the most powerful human beings that I know. You have to be strong and committed to who you are and risk your life, livelihood, and your family connections. I don't have to remind any trans person to be powerful because they are. I want to help empower and instill in trans people self-love and grace in their transition. We all are in constant transition and growth–even cisgender people. As trans people, we just are lucky to express it outwardly.
