Out teen YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa, who is part of a history-making same-sex duo on "Dancing with the Stars," thrilled in the role of Prince Charming on the Oct. 11 Disney-themed episode, Yahoo! Entertainment reported.

Siwa and her same-sex dance partner on the show, Jenna Johnson, "danced to the 'Cinderella' song 'A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,' complete with Siwa dressed as Prince Charming," Yahoo! Entertainment said.

The duo's number "was so clean, so elegant, that the pair collected the first nines of the season, for 35 out of a total 40 points on the night," Billboard detailed. Judge Derek Hough summed up the judges' response, praising their turn as "a breath of fresh air," according to Billboard.

The show's judges weren't alone in their rapturous response.

"Viewers on Twitter absolutely loved the moment, with one person calling it 'one of the best in the history' of the show," the article added, going on to note that "others were quick to point out the performance was even better because it happened on an extra special day: National Coming Out Day."

Siwa and Johnson are the first same-sex pairing in the 30-season history of "Dancing with the Stars." Plans to pair Siwa with a female partner were announced last August, in advance of the season.

The Associated Press reported at the time that "Siwa, an 18-year-old who has said she identifies as gay and queer, said the same-sex pairing signals to viewers that it's OK to be your true self."

The AP also quoted Siwa as saying, "I think it breaks a wall that's never been broken down before,' she told an online gathering of the Television Critics Association," the article added. "'It's normal for a girl to dance with a guy, and I think that's really cool, but it's really special that now not only do I get to share with the world that you get to love who you love, but also you get to dance with who you want to dance with."
