Ah, summer. A global pandemic couldn't stop some of our favorite LGBTQ+ celebrities from masking up and getting out of town. For some, it was a working vacation. For others, a chance to leave the hustle and ring lights behind for a momentary change to rest, refresh and revitalize.

Wondering where they went, what they did, and with whom they spent time? EDGE editors did a social media SCUBA dive on our favorite queer influencers –no need to feel FOMO. Just pretend you were there, too.

Antoni Porowski
Kennebunkport, Maine

Last month, lobster rolls and open waters awaited "Queer Eye" co-host Antoni Porowski when he headed to Kennebunkport, Maine. He didn't mind his new favorite cologne, writing, "my favorite shirt now smells like lobster and I don't think it can be dry cleaned therefore this shirt will forever smell of lobster but that's ok."

Shangela
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

All work and no play is not a motto that Shangela lives by. The drag superstar kicked off summer with a work/play trip to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate Pride, log a couple of appearances, and catch some much-needed rays of sunshine.

Bianca Del Rio
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Where does Bianca Del Rio aka Roy Haylock call home? It's hard to say, with images popping up in her Insta feed from across the globe. But mid-summer brought a brief reprieve with some relaxing days in Palm Springs before she heads out on her Unsanitized Comedy Tour this September.

Gus Kenworthy
Provincetown, Massachusetts

How is it possible that Gus Kenworthy had never been to Provincetown before this summer? He arrived in a flourish, posting on Instagram, "My liver is dead but my heart has never been more alive. Amazing first trip to P-Town with the girls!"

Colton Underwood
Punta Mita, Mexico

Head north of the queer nightlife hotspot of Puerto Vallarta and you'll discover the natural beauty of Riviera Nayarit. And if you're really lucky, Colton Underwood may be there, too, catching some rays at the luxurious Four Seasons.

Wanda and Alex Sykes
Southern France

This August, Wanda Sykes and her French wife Alex took road-tripping to an entirely new level in a restored 1980 lime green la Deux Chevaux (dubbed "La Grenouille" aka #froggie). With a whopping two horsepower, they likely won't be heading to the Autobahn any time soon but had plenty of laughs on the road.

Tan France
Iceland

Before baby made three, Tan France and husband Rob traversed Iceland's dramatic landscape, from the streets of Reykjavik to the restorative, crystal blue waters of the Blue Lagoon. (Christopher Atkins was nowhere to be found).

Demi Lovato
Maldives

Demi Lovato has been splashed across the headlines this summer, from announcing they are nonbinary to Emily Hampshire of "Schitt's Creek" sharing that Lovato slid into her DMs to ask her on a date. To shake off the paparazzi, Lovato headed to the Maldives to bask in the sun.

Leyna Bloom
Hollywood, Florida

"The Cover Girl has Arrived. 1st day let the fun begin at @hardrockholly," wrote Bloom on Instagram. Bloom was referencing her history-making appearance as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's first-ever transgender cover model. Her working getaway was part of the icon issue's launch.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita
Ireland

The happy hubbies headed to Ireland for an adventure through Ireland that included Dalkey and Bray, Cork and Killarney. Ferguson will return to Broadway this spring in a revival of Richard Greenberg's Tony Award-winning play "Take Me Out" in April 2022.

Dan Levy
Tuscany, Italy

Although Dan Levy won't be going on the "Schitt's Creek" Farewell Tour as planned due to COVID-19 concerns, but he did manage to dash off to the Italian countryside and meet up with Aubrey Plaza.

Christian Siriano
Provence, France

Ooh la la! Christian Siriano headed to the south of France for some r&r at Château de Tourreau, an 18th-century château featuring six salons, nine suites and 20 acres to muse about his next creative endeavor.

Tituss Burgess
Sayulita, Mexico

Though Burgess didn't reveal his exact location from his summer sojourn, a bit of sleuthing indicates that the "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" actor was likely at the Playa Escondida Resort, filming a guest-host spot for season 7 of "Bachelor in Paradise." Of course, that didn't stop him from having fun with friend Matt Ransdell catching his antics on film.

Jonathan Bennett and Jaymes Vaughan
Croatia, Montenegro, Portugal

Where didn't Jonathan Bennet and Jaymes Vaughn go this summer? A pandemic couldn't keep these two grounded, perhaps because they're researching their soon-to-launch LGBTQ+ travel company, OUTBound Travel, with Bennett telling Travel+Leisure, "We know what we want and what our friends want and people that are friends of ours in the community and the allies want."
