Watch: 'The Gaycation Travel Show' Takes on Manhattan

Matthew Wexler READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Masks off (if you're vaccinated), Manhattan on! As previously reported on EDGE, new CDC guidelines allow fully vaccinated people to stop wearing masks outdoors in crowds and most indoor settings. It's one step closer to the world of the living, which means many of us are ready to pack a bag and finally start traveling once again.

Enter Ravi Roth and the premiere of "The Gaycation Travel Show." Roth, a well-known travel influencer, hosts the newly launched YouTube series, which promises to take viewers on "an exhilarating journey to known and off-the-beaten-path LGBTQ+ friendly and new places to visit, immersing you in the local queer and not so queer culture of each place we visit."

Produced by OUTvoicesTV in partnership with Gaycation Magazine, "The Gaycation Travel Show"'s first season will debut with eight episodes and feature some of Roth's favorite travel cohorts. The first episode welcomes travel writer Ivan Quintanilla, who recently profiled a "Supernova"-inspired trip to England's Lake District as well as an in-depth profile of Guadalajara, an emerging LGBTQ destination in Mexico.

For episode one, Roth and Quintanilla joyfully stomp around Manhattan, focusing on the queer hub of Hell's Kitchen. Roth later joins drag queen Glow Job for a protest outside the legendary Stonewall Inn. Filmed earlier this year, the episode doesn't necessarily break new ground in terms of format or tone, but Roth's joyful optimism can't be denied. With seven more episodes ahead, we're ready to pack our virtual weekender and see where he heads next..
