Only in Florida: Man Arrested for Throwing Ramen Noodles at Boyfriend

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

A 40-year-old Florida man found himself in oodles of trouble when he was slapped with a battery charge for throwing a cup of ramen noodles at his live-in boyfriend.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, the proverbial "cup o trouble" started on Friday, November 11, when Michael Herrick of Pinellas Park, Florida, got into a verbal altercation regarding "questions of infidelity" with his boyfriend of approximately one year.

Herrick told police that the argument escalated until he threw a cup of ramen noodles at the victim, striking him in the right neck area.

Herrick was determined to be the primary aggressor in the noodle assault after "multiple family members" told the arresting officer that he "was making threats of harming himself and acting unstable."

Herrick was booked into jail on a misdemeanor account of domestic battery and released on Saturday.

The Smoking Gun notes that Herrick's rap sheet includes prior convictions for grand theft, passing bad checks, and violating probation.
