READ TIME: 2 MIN.

A national study conducted this past week revealed how 1,000 teens and young adults ages 15-25 years old bring up (or in some cases, don't bring up) the difficult, yet important conversations about sexual health, STDs/STIs and consent. YES to SEX, the leading sexual safety smartphone app, announced today findings about Millennials/Gen Zs and one night stands.

Key Findings (study included 1,000 sexually active participants, ages 15-25 years old):

  • 68% of Millennials and Gen Zs have regretted a one-night stand;

  • 79% of Millennials and Gen Zs neglected to ask for verbal consent the last time they had sex with a new partner;

  • 84% of Millennials and Gen Zs neglected to ask about STDs/STIs the last time they had sex with a new partner;

  • 74% of Millennials and Gen Zs said that if someone pinched their arm or leg during sexual activity they would stop all sexual activity immediately

    The YES to SEX app is available to download on iOS and Android. For additional information on YES to SEX and the YES to SEX EDU platform for colleges, please visit www.yestosex.com

    Inspired into action by survey responders Wendy Mandell-Geller, YES to SEX Founder is launching a social media contest, #AboutLastNight. This will be an outlet for Millennials and Gen Zs sharing funny stories and experiences from "the night before" to diminish the stigma associated with sexual health and consent conversations. ABOUT YES to SEX

    Launched in Spring 2016, YES to SEX eases the awkwardness of discussing "No" or "Yes" to sex and protection. It requires no sign-up and offers a "Preview Only" feature for teaching and "how-to-consent" demos. YES to SEX was invented by Wendy Mandell-Geller to pave the path for a movement that empowers people everywhere to speak-up when it comes to sexual consent.
