Mural Dedicated to 'Big Ang' Unveiled in Staten Island

A mural dedicated to the memory of reality TV star Angela "Big Ang" Raiola was unveiled in Staten Island this weekend. The beloved raspy-voiced "Mob Wives" star died last month after a battle with throat cancer, VH1.com reports.
The outdoor mural painted by artists Danielle Matron and Vincent Santorella is located by Raiola's sister Janine Detore's children's boutique shop, The Country Mouse, in Staten Island. It was unveiled in an official ceremony following speeches by Detore and "Mob Wives" co-star Drita D'Avanazo.
Although Raiola gained national fame in the show "Mob Wives," she wasn't technically a mob wife. Her closest association with the real mafia came courtesy of her uncle, the late Salvatore "Sally Dogs" Lombardi, a reputed captain of the Genovese crime family.
A tribute to Raiola titled "Larger Than Life: A Celebration of Big Ang" will air on VH1 Wednesday at 9/8c.
