Tie The Knot's Latest Bow Tie Creation
Tie The Knot, founded by the star of TV's "Modern Family" Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita, has released a New Mexico-themed bowtie, the "The Patricia Michaels," for purchase online.
The bow tie, created to highlight local marriage equality efforts, is the product of a collaboration between the Tie The Knot, renowned Taos Pueblo Designer Patricia Michaels, who placed second in last season's "Project Runway," American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico, and the Why Marriage Matters New Mexico campaign. "I am excited to return to my home state to support all the fantastic work being done to win the freedom to marry in New Mexico," said Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Past beneficiaries include the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest LGBT rights organizations, which included a $50,000 donation from the sales of a single line of bow ties.
Tie The Knot has also donated to The Respect for Marriage Coalition, a partnership of more than 80 civil rights, faith, health, labor, business, legal, LGBT, student, and women's organizations working together to end the Defense of Marriage Act and grow support for the freedom to marry.
