Russian Anti-Gay Film Makes Shocking Claims About Gays

A disturbing new Russian anti-gay propaganda film has hit the blogosphere, making claims that gays die decades earlier than "normal people," need to adopt children for sex and are 4,500 times likely to give you HIV.

The video, which includes English subtitles, is reportedly produced by a group called Healthy Young Generation -- Healthy Russia.

"They talk about freedom but they deprive our children of the freedom of choice, making perversion equal to the norm," claims the video, showing footage from Pride parades.

The video claims that gay people "die 20-30 years before normal people," actively spread propaganda to recruit young people and leave old gays to die alone, saying, "No one needs an old gay person."

According to Queerty, the video cannot be authenticated, but it comes on the heels of anti-gay legislation and hate crimes in Russia.

The film also cites the controversial 2012 study from University of Texas professor Mark Regenerus, saying "one fourth of children being raised by same-sex parents showed a tendency toward suicide and had contracted venereal diseases."

The study found "that the scholarly and popular consensus that there are no notable differences between the children who grew up with a mother or father in a same-sex relationship and those whose (heterosexual) mother and father were and are still married is a fiction," study researcher Mark Regnerus, a sociologist at the University of Texas, told LiveScience.

But even Regenrus thinks the video goes too far. In response, he wrote a piece in the Atlantic Wire outlining the ways in which a Russian lawmaker is misusing his study, which has since been widely discredited, to justify anti-gay legislation.

Showing pictures of gay parents hugging and kissing their children, the film goes on to say that "this is why gays especially, are happy for children to be adopted by gays. They need children to satisfy their sexual desire."

The accompanying statistics claim that 50 percent of pedophiles are gay, that America loves The North American Man/Boy Love Association, and that while three percent of the population is gay, 30 percent of child sex crimes are perpetrated by gay people.

The film also credits gays with being the source of all HIV, saying that 50 percent HIV infected are gay, and "the likelihood of contracting HIV from a gay person is 4500 times higher than from a normal person."

But we don't have to live this way, states the film.

"According to leading scientists, changes in the cerebral cortex which define sexual orientation can be treated more easily than alcoholism," but they don't want to be treated, because they are prominent in the media, with lots of big stars in their ranks.

"Think before it's too late -- homosexuality is not normal -- it is abnormal," states the narrator as the video closes.
