Opulent Bridal Collection Presents a Dedication to Marriage Equality

New York, NY - Designer Sarah Jassir introduced her Fall 2012 bridal collection entitled "Opulence" on Sunday, October 16th 2011 in Midtown Manhattan. In an intimate ballet studio of exposed brick walls and antique furniture, models showcased sixteen diverse takes on the traditional gown.
While many customary floor-length styles were included, a tea-length gown and cropped silk pants were among the surprising looks presented for a more modern bride. Perhaps the most noted piece in the collection, the "bridal suit," both opened and closed the presentation.
The show included a special dedication to marriage equality in light of New York City's recent legalization of gay marriage. Two brides ended the production holding hands in a final walk to applause and cheers by members of the audience.
Joseph Alexander spearheaded production efforts for Sunday's affair as Wedding and Events planner for the LGBT community. As founder and CEO of Gay Ever After, his focus is on traditional ceremonies fused with a modern sensibility.
Sarah Jassir partnered with Gay Ever After for this years' presentation in support of a common purpose: to provide any and every bride with the very best on her wedding day.
Long-term New Yorkers, Mark and Robert have also lived in San Francisco, Boston, Provincetown, D.C., Miami Beach and the south of France. The recipient of fellowships at MacDowell, Yaddo, and Blue Mountain Center, Mark is a PhD in American history and literature, as well as the author of the novels Wolfchild and My Hawaiian Penthouse.
