Vermont's Northern Decadence Seeks Cupcake Amateurs

BURLINGTON, VT - All inspiring bakers who are not professional pastry chefs are invited to enter the the first annual Decadent Cupcake Competition which will take place on Saturday, September 10th at the Hilton Burlington. The competition is part of the Norther Decadence Food Festival, Art Show and Travel Expo. Contestants must be non-professional, student or not previously employed in a baking or culinary capacity.

Each contestant will be asked to produce nine cupcakes that will be used for both judging and for display to the public. Edible decorations are required. No plastic or inedible decorations will be allowed. Top three winners will win cash and prizes.

"Decadent Cupcake" in this context may mean: creative, over-the-top, rich, extraordinary, artistic, or with a "wow" factor. Contest Guidelines are available at NorthernDecadence.com. To enter, simply email your name, address, and phone number to [email protected].

Northern Decadence is a two-day event celebrating Vermont's diversity and culinary tourism. It is produced by the Vermont Gay Tourism Association with support from the Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing.
