Living In Emergency
Aron Gold, Esq. READ TIME: 1 MIN.
If you think America's healthcare system is bad, imagine what life would be like without one. This is what the doctors in "Living in Emergency" face, as they handle the medical issues of Congo and Liberia. These war-torn nations depend on the doctors, several featured in this documentary, to provide not just some, but all of the healthcare for the nation.
"Living in Emergency" is fascinating, not just for the real-life situations the doctors show on camera, but for those in between moments of their greatest stress. They all face such extreme conditions, working with little support and a bureaucratic system gone haywire. Nothing is sugar-coated in this movie.
This DVD release includes several special features, including interviews, an "About Doctors Without Borders" feature, and a "Town Hall with Elizabeth Vargas." A must-watch for anybody who care about global healthcare.
