Irish mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor's bad boy rep just went up a notch after the French news outlet AFP reported he has been arrested in Corsica for indecent exposure, Barrons reports.

"Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony Mac Gregor was the subject of a hearing by the gendarmerie services," wrote the prosecutor's office in a statement sent to AFP.

A representative for McGregor has told TMZ: "Conor McGregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct," adds the Daily Mail. "He has been interviewed and released."

"The retired MMA star had been on holiday in Corsica amid rumours that he's planning a UFC comeback," writes the British news outlet The Sun.

"McGregor had spent several weeks in the area in preparation for a 180km voyage alongside Princess Charlene of Monaco to raise awareness of water safety," the tabloid adds.

"McGregor was recently pictured attending a lavish event in the region, on the port of Calvi, alongside his fiancee Dee Devlin on Friday night. He had proposed to his long-term partner during the summer, and has shared several social media posts of them both during their holiday," writes the Daily Mail.

Last November the pugnacious UFC champ was fined for punching a man in a Dublin bar in April, 2019, Sports Illustrated reported.

"Video footage showed the UFC fighter walking into the pub to order shots of his custom-made whiskey. An elderly male declined multiple offers of the drink which prompted McGregor to punch him in the face," SI reported.

"What I did was very wrong and I'd like to apologize again to the injured party and today before the court and assure you that nothing of this nature will happen again," McGregor said in court, according to Irish website The Journal.

"McGregor has dealt with multiple legal issues throughout this year. The New York Times has published two separate reports of sexual assault allegations brought against him in Ireland. McGregor was also arrested in March after smashing a fan's phone outside the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami," SI adds.
