Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has officially lost her bid for California governor and she "can't believe" the results.

As reported by People, Jenner received approximately 55,000 votes (around 1.1 percent) to Gov. Gavin Newsom's 5.8 million.

Delivering a statement after the votes were tallied, Jenner seemed stunned that so many people voted for Gov. Newsom.

"I can't believe that this many people actually voted to keep him in office," said Jenner. "It's a shame, honestly, it's a shame. You kind of get the government you deserve."

Running as a "moderate" Republican candidate in the recall election, Jenner said she is not done with politics. Before the election results were announced, she told The Washington Post that she wouldn't rule out another run for governor if she happened to lose.

"That's one of the things I will continue to fight for in the future: Is the Republican Party being more moderate and more inclusive to people?" she said. "No matter what happens on this campaign, I will continue that fight."
