Speculation about the sexuality of Miranda Hobbes on "And Just Like That" accelerated this weekend. The Daily Mail reports that the trailer for the upcoming HBO Max series "has set fans atwitter speculating that art will imitate life and Cynthia's character will start dating women."

Hobbes is played by Cynthia Nixon, who identified as bisexual in 2012 to the Advocate. (She now identifies as queer.) In 2018 she turned to politics, challenging Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic Primary for New York's governorship.

The trailer dropped to promote the show's December 9 launch date on HBO Max. But Twitter quickly picked up the Miranda gay vibe from visual clues. One shot in the one-minute trailer shows "Miranda having what appears to be a one-on-one dinner in a dimly lit restaurant with a character played by the nonbinary bisexual Sara Ramirez," writes the Daily Mail.

One fan tweeted, "And just like that Miranda is in love with her."

Slasher Magazine tweeted "The signs are all over the #AndJustLikeThat teaser, just saying."

One fan posted a still of the moment to Twitter and gushed: "They have definitely made Miranda gay. Grey, gay and fabulous! Here for it!"

"Twitter also speculated the placement of a shot showing Miranda sharing a tender moment with a character played by Karen Pittman," adds the Daily Mail.

The shot came right after brief glimpses of two couples - Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Harry (Evan Handler), and Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Big (Chris Noth).

"This totally makes it seem like Miranda is going to be queer right?" tweeted another fan. "Like shot of Harry&Charlotte, Carrie&Big and then Miranda and that hot lady?"

On "Sex and the City," Miranda had a relationship with bartender Steve Brady (David Eigenberg). She had his baby and they married, but things were rocky between them.

Eigenberg was late to sign on to the show, but in June he confirmed he had. "However the status of his and Miranda's relationship on the show remains unconfirmed, allowing for the possibility they may split," adds the Daily Mail.

Others agreed with the speculation:
