While lovers of televised holiday movies await Hallmark's announcement of LGBTQ-themed storylines — of which there are none in the network's 18 recently announced films for the remainder of 2020 — it appears as though Lifetime is set to make the first move.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, among the 30 new movies the network plans to air in its annual "It's a Wonderful Lifetime" block, "The Christmas Set Up" will focus on Hugo, a corporate attorney, who goes home to Wisconsin for Christmas only to find his mother setting him up with his high school crush, Patrick. Now Hugo must decide whether to accept a promotion he'd just been offered in London, or stay in Wisconsin to see what happens with Patrick.

Amy Winter, Executive VP and Head of Programming at Lifetime, said of the films:

"We are thrilled to continue our legacy of creating a holiday destination that is welcoming to all at Lifetime... With more new movies than any one cable network for streamer, I couldn't be prouder of the incredible talent joining us in front of, and behind the camera, on these new holiday movies."
