Broadway great Irving Berlin once wrote "a sailor's not a sailor 'til a sailor's been tattooed," a song that was immortalized in the film "There's No Business Like Show Business" by Ethel Merman and Mitzi Gaynor.


The sentiment can also apply to many queer men. Like the scruffy beard, tattoos have never been more prevalent in queer culture.
