Gay-Hating Radio Host Claims Democrats Were Praying to Satan Prior to Baseball Game

Monday Jun 19, 2017

The man who opened the week by claiming Pride Month is proof that not all people are "children of God" has upped the ante and closed the week out with the claim that all Democrats are the "children of Satan."

What religious right commentator doesn't get all gushy watching people pray? Jesse Lee Peterson, that's who. So it comes as a shock that the sight of lawmakers from the across the political spectrum kneeling in prayer prior to last week's Congressional Baseball Game held at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., should inspire such ire.

"It was a phony prayer," Peterson said on his radio show Friday. "Democrats, liberals do not believe in God. They were praying to their father, the devil."

The anti-LGBT arch-conservative mouthpiece who once accused the people trapped in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina of being "welfare pampered," "lazy" and immoral," continued.

"Why are you so impressed with the children of Satan getting down on their knees yesterday, pretending to be praying?" he asked listeners. "They were down on their knees thinking, 'Lord, I can't wait until this is over.' They're like, 'Forgive me, Satan. I'm just playing.' And Satan was like, 'Oh, okay, I know, I do that all the time.'"

Following the prayer, Democrats went on to trounce Congressional Republicans on the ballfield. The final score was 11- 2.
