Christmas is Cancelled! Aussie Tennis Legend Throws Fit Over Marriage Vote

Friday Nov 17, 2017

Although love won in Australia with the historic postal vote moving the country to marriage equality, notorious homophobic tennis legend Margaret Court is seeing love in tennis terms - as zero. She's threatened to leave her political party and has urged politicians to ignore the plebiscite.

"It's a very sad day for our nation," the former tennis champion said according to the Daily Mail.

"I think this is the most wonderful nation in the world. But you don't change something because something came through like today's Yes vote,'" she said on a conservative program.

"I teach adultery is wrong. Homosexuality, it's wrong to lie... A child needs a mother and father," she added.

The Advocate notes that Court's hyperbole has gone so far as to warn that marriage equality would end all major holidays, including Christmas.

'There will be no Mother's Day, there will be no Father's Day, there will be no Easter, there will be no Christmas,' the 75-year-old said.

All of this proved too much for lesbian tennis legend Martina Navratllova not to troll Court.
