A mother from Georgia is up in arms after learning her 12-year-old daughter was given an LGBTQ-themed vocabulary test, which quizzed the girl on the definitions of "lesbian," "gay," "transgender," and other terms.

Octavia Parks is lashing out against DeKalb County District in Georgia after a health teacher gave a sexual identity quiz to sixth graders at Lithonia Middle School, Fox 5 Atlanta reports. Among the students who took the quiz was Parks' 12-year-old daughter, who brought the assignment home.

"Why are they teaching that in school?" Parks said. "What does that have to do with life?"

Parks believes the assignment's content was not appropriate for school and that her daughter is too young to learn about sexual orientation and gender identity.

"We're talking about a sixth grader who still watches Nickelodeon," she told Fox 5 Atlanta. "I'm not ready to explain what these words are nor what they mean."

According to images of the test in question, the questions asked were as simple as, "A person who identifies as a woman" and "A man who is attracted to men."

Parks claims she had a conversation with the health teacher and was assured the LGBTQ-themed material would not be taught.

"We had a brief conversation and she assured me that this sort of thing would not happen," the mother told the news station. "Nonetheless, it is happening."

Parks explained she has since signed a consent from, removing her daughter from health class. Fox 5 Atlanta reports she's not the only parent to do so.

"I will be removing her from that class, and I'm also going to take it to the board of education to see what they have to say about it, as well," she said.

The news station reports it is "unclear" if the DeKalb County School District approved of the LGBTQ curriculum but officials did acknowledge the parent's concern in a statement.

"DCSD has been made aware of this alleged event, and is working to verify its authenticity. We will investigate this event and take action, as appropriate, once that investigation is completed," a spokesman for the district told Fox 5 Atlanta.

This ignorant mother is clearly out of touch with reality. Kudos to the teacher for a full education to the students.
