Big Brother 10 Eviction Prediction :: Week 1

(Continued from Page 1)

What’s a soldier to do? Why, cave in, of course! HoH Jerry (who looked like he was about to bawl) nominated Brian to replace hottie Jesse, landing the first clear candidate for eviction with his neck on the line.

My Eviction Prediction: Brian gets kicked out in a blaze of non-glory. And not a moment too soon!

And I actually can’t wait to see who wins HoH. If Dan doesn’t step up to the plate and win this HoH he’s toast! And if Renny can just shut up and be normal for a week.

That’s it readers. And remember I’ll be watching...

I think Steven referred to Libra as the Colored Girl. I personally find that far from a racist comment. After all, isn’t one of the largest organizations for People of color called The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)?

RE: Steven-If in fact Libra was referred to as "colored" I do take exception to that. I am not "colored." I am American. If you must then African American. Shall I start referring to caucasians as "colorless?" Why are whites just Americans? The truest Americans are Native American. Though we don’t know what was in Steven’s heart we know he made an ignorant and insensitive slip.Marcellas Reynolds

You used the phrase yourself in your article. "This may, after all, be the first time Steven has been around people of color - in which case our family HG has been living under a rock." - ’nuff said.

There’s a difference between "people of color" which refers to the 2 African American, Asian American and Portuguese American house guests this season (which the article was talking about) and singling out Libra with the term "colored." Do you think if someone was talking about Angie, the Asian American house guest, they would have said "colored?" Why try and duck it or sugar coat it; most times when the term "colored" is used it has a racist intonation and is used about African Americans. Much like the "n word" it’s a term that has many meanings and many usages. Are we to pretend that when we saw signs like "No coloreds" or "coloreds only" that it wasn’t disparaging? Then again we’re talking context/usage I suppose. Or is this a little do as I say not as I do on my part? Like when rappers or African Americans use the "n word" about themselves or when homosexuals refer to themselves as gay, Mary or queen? Marcellas Reynolds
