Andy Cohen to Replace Kathy Griffin on CNN's New Year's Eve Show

Thursday Oct 12, 2017

Kathy Griffin is out, and Andy Cohen is in.

CNN is replacing Griffin with Cohen on the network's New Year's Eve program, which was originally hosted by the comedian and Anderson Cooper. After hosting the show for ten years with her former BFF, Griffin was fired over the controversial photo where she held a severed head that resembled President Donald Trump.

"Andy is the life of the party wherever he goes, and what bigger party is there than New Year's Eve? It is going to be a blast," Cooper, who will continue cohost the show in New York City, said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

"I've been friends with Anderson for 25 years. We've traveled the world together and performed in 30-plus cities with 'AC2' and it's all led to this one huge night!" Cohen, who hosts "Watch What Happens Live!" added.

Griffin suffered a massive fallout after the photo made headlines, resulting in her losing many gigs. She also lost her friendship with Cooper, revealing in August the two were no longer pals.
