A London-based actor took to Twitter over the weekend, sharing a rejection letter he received from a talent agency that is going viral.

Joseph Segal took issue with the company's reasoning for being rejected, which said he was being refused because of his sexuality.

"We already have a gay actor on our books... We feel there would be a clash," reads a photo of the note that Segal posted to Twitter.

"Today I received this email from an #agent I am hurt and frustrated. Are all #gayactors the same?" Segal tweeted. "Do we not get cast? Are there not enough roles for us? If you can take the time to #RETWEEET please do and spread awareness!"

Segal received support from fellow Twitter users.

After an outcry, the agency responded to Segal with an apology, asking him to share it on Twitter.

On Monday, the actor thanked people for showing their support.
