Married Ex-Washington Post Exec Found Dead in Gay NYC Hotel After Male Escorts Awards Show

Speculation and rumors surround the death of a married former Washington Post vice president whose body was found at the popular Manhattan gay hotel complex The Out, Saturday following an awards ceremony for male escorts.

The New York Post reports:

Guyon Knight, 64 was found dead on the floor of the popular gay hotel complex The Out on March 22. According to the Post, sources say he was surrounded by a needle, a pipe and pills.

The sources also told the newspaper Knight collapsed around 8 a.m. outside a room in the hotel where a party was being held.

The night prior to Knight's death, an event called "The Hookies International Escort Awards," which celebrates the best of the male escort industry, was held at BPM, a nightclub adjacent to and part of The Out complex. This was the eighth annual edition of the popular event, which is produced by, the world's largest male escort website. The awards were hosted by actor and comedian Leslie Jordoan of "Will and Grace" fame.

Police and medics responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious man, "possibly due to drug use."

He was rushed to the nearby Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Numerous calls to the Medical Examiner's Office by The New York Post went unreplied.

Knight worked for the Washington Post from 1982 to 2007 where he served as vice president of corporate communications.

He and his wife, Linda, resided at the landmarked Century Condo on Central Park West. They have an adult son who lives in Detroit.
