XXXBoys :: Tristan Jaxx mixes porn & music
He's not just another gorgeous body with a horse-hung appendage. Though those qualities have not been a detriment to him, Tristan Jaxx actually used his attributes to establish a name in porn hoping to lead to success in his true love... music.
On the cusp of starting his very own club night at San Francisco's Club Beatbox, I caught up with Tristan for a chat about being a free agent in porn, his failed porn star marriage, being a DJ, and not winning that GayVN cum shot award.
BeBe: You once were an exclusive porn model with Raging Stallion Studios (now Falcon/Raging Stallion Studios), but you are now free to work with any porn studio. How do like being a non-exclusive model?
Tristan: I love being non-exclusive. Though it's been awhile since I was under contract, being exclusive with Falcon/Raging Stallion Studios helped build my name. It was a great start. But now, I'm loving the freedom to work with whichever company I want.
BeBe: A couple of years ago you were nominated for Best Cum Shot at the annual GayVN Awards for a scene where you literally shot the cap off the head of your performing partner. But, you didn’t win! How did you feel about not taking home the trophy after such a performance?
Tristan: It was surprising (not to win) considering the performance. You could hear the noise the cum shot made at impact. I heard the crew in shock, which was amazing since I’m sure they have seen a lot. I was dead aim on in the eye with a huge splash! It’s something you have to see.
Even though I lost, I was told by the studio it was their best cum shot ever. And to this day, I’m still hearing how awesome the scene is.
BeBe: You have filmed a variety of porn scenes in your career: solo, one-on-one, three-ways, kink. Do you have a favorite type of scene you feel captures your best sex performance in porn?
Tristan: I think it’s the one-on-ones that get the best performance from a model. It’s just more intimate and less people are involved. You and your co-star really get to show each others’ talents.
Has what it takes
BeBe: You had a highly publicized marriage and subsequent divorce with a fellow gay porn star (Tristan Phoenix) a few years back. Does working in porn make it difficult to sustain intimate relationships?
Tristan: I think just being gay in general makes it hard to sustain a relationship; but yes, porn can be tough (on relationships) as well. I mean, the obvious point is you are having sex with others and guys get jealous.
If only they knew how much work was actually involved in doing a scene. It never comes close to the intimacy you get with an actual partner. But in all honesty, even if my ex- and I weren’t in adult films, things still wouldn’t have worked out.
BeBe: You have parlayed, like others, your porn celebrity into quite a career in DJing. When did your interest in mixing music start?
Tristan: My interest in music started when I was in junior high school. My first CD was Brandy. Don’t hate! I really liked the "Boy Is Mine" (duet with Monica that won a Grammy). By the way, I wasn’t "out" yet at the time. I got more into dance music after high school with Louie Devito’s "Dance Factory" and NYC Underground. There was just something about the beats and sounds that perked me up and always kept me in a good mood. I didn’t get the same vibe from regular songs on the radio. Going to clubs, I listened to all the DJs spinning their tunes and taking notes. I said to myself, "...when I get home, I have to get that song." Later this turned into "...oh my God, I could mix this with that and it would sound amazing."
I went into the adult film industry thinking it would help my DJ career, but the shocker was it really didn’t. Most people would judge me as talentless because I did porn movies, or I just wanted to DJ for fun. I worked really hard on my mixes and sets and eventually proved myself at Gus Presents (premier San Francisco promoter of gay circuit parties) Epic party. I showed that I have what it takes. My career DJing has been picking up ever since.
Loves video games
BeBe: I have spoken to many porn models who go-go dance for additional monies between shooting films, but they don’t particularly like it. What’s your feeling on porn stars go-go dancing?
Tristan: I love go-go dancing, but then again, I know how to dance. It also goes hand-in-hand with my love for music. I don’t really go-go anymore, however, because it impacts my DJing. Clubs will try and hire me to go-go instead. As fun as it is to dance, I’d rather be spinning.
BeBe: If you weren’t doing porn or spinning/mixing music, what would Tristan Jaxx be doing?
Tristan: I love video games, so maybe I would be working at a video game website, or even better, on an actual video game.
Tristan Jaxx is continually in demand with various porn studios. You can find out where you can see ALL of Tristan at his website.

DJ Tristan Jaxx begins a new monthly party in San Francisco on September 3, 2011 called Chaos at Club Beatbox.
As an actress, BeBe was introduced to film with a lead role in the independent film "Under One Sun" with her character dealing with religious, racial and gender issues. Additionally, she appeared in the campy musical "Devious, Inc" (Australian Film Festival, San Francisco Short Film Fest) also adding additional vocals to the musical soundtrack. Both of these performances led to her selection for a lead role in Aisha Media’s next short film series, "Con-tin.u.um" to be released in 2012.
