Author Rich Merritt, whose memoir Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star was a sensation, has written a novel--and he's coming to Boston's Calamus Books for a reading.

Merritt will be at the Boston GLBT bookstore on Friday, February 15, for the 7:00 p.m. event, during which he will read from his debut novel Code of Conduct.

The Kensington Books release tells the story of a young gay Marine named Don Hawkins who seeks to serve his country but is compelled to hide the truth about himself even as President Bill Clinton reneges on a promise to life the ban on gay troops and signs "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" into law.

The event is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Calamus Bookstore is located at 92B South Street. The address, in Boston's Leather District, is a block away from South Station.
