Romney’s Generous Spread

August 14, 2012: In Chillicothe, Ohio, Romney gave what I'm sure he thought was the Mother of All Stump Speeches. The Republican candidate for president said Obama demonizes and divides Americans. "His campaign strategy is to smash America apart," he said.

Then Romney delivered the money-shot of his Chillicothe speech. It was his best quotable, a real zinger, a crowd pleaser and a rallying cry that was immediately picked up by the media: "Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago."

But does Romney realize that this statement demonizes the American city of Chicago with anger and hate, thus divides the nation?

In one sentence, Romney managed once again to sit his broad political ass firmly on both sides of an issue.
